This happens when the food and acids from the stomach go all the way to your mouth. It is often accompanied by burning sensation and an unpleasant and painful taste in your mouth and throat. You may also have a swallowing problem if you suffer from acid reflux. The sensation is that you feel like the food gets stuck in your throat and you feel pain. This pain can sometimes be overwhelming and make people even stop eating. You may also have problems breathing, but this is not very common.
